30 Bright and Colorful Birds Found in the Nation of Peru

Peru is a true treasure of South America, known for its diverse culture, with a massive population of 32 million people and a mega-diverse ecosystem. Within the bounds of this country lie certain regions of the Andes Mountains as well as the Amazon River Basin. The Peruvian nation is home to over 21,000 different species of plants and animals, including 1818 confirmed species of birds. Out of these, nearly 106 species are endemic, i.e., found only within the geographical range of Peru, and 54 are considered vagrants, that is, living in this region accidentally as it is beyond their normal range.

Many species were also introduced by humans over time for the purpose of their conservation and rehabilitation. Whatever category these fabulous fowls come under, they are all adorned with unique features and pristine plumage that makes them oh-so aesthetically appealing. These 30 birds are only the tip of the winged iceberg!
