The Big Band Era, sometimes known as the Swing Era, occurred from the 1920s through to the 1950s, although it was most prominent between the 1930s and 1940s.  This era is characterized by jazz or swing bands consisting of ten or more musicians playing a range of different instruments. Trombones, saxophones, and trumpets were all essential instruments during the Big Band Era, and bands would often have multiple of these instruments. Typically, these aerophones were accompanied by a rhythm section made up of guitar, drums, bass, or piano. These all blended together to create outstanding music.
