George Michael (25 June 1963 – 25 December 2016), born Georgios Kyriacos Panayiotou was an English singer songwriter who first shot to fame in the 1980s as part of the duo Wham! So far he has sold more than 100 million records, with some of his greatest hits including Faith, Careless Whisper, and Jesus to a Child. Because of these songs and more, the world fell in love with the troubled superstar, hoping he could overcome his ambivalent relationship to fame and fortune. Frank Sinatra famously told him to hug, embrace, nurture, and share his talent, "lest it be taken away from you as fast as it was loaned to you." Now it's time for us to celebrate that abundant talent and be thankful for the man that was George Michael.
