When people and pets grow up together they share a very special and beautiful bond which is not easy to break. Due to their shorter lifespans, cats and dogs (and most other animals) tend to grow out of their juvenile stage relatively quickly. In a few months, that adorable puppy that trips over himself will be galloping enthusiastically approaching his adult size. Their rate of growth towards maturity helps puts any changes in our own lives into perspective as well. Furthermore, it helps us better appreciate the fact that they spend their whole lives by our sides as faithful and loving friends.
