SUPERMOON: A Rare Celestial Treat Never to Be Forgotten

On November 14th 2016 the whole world celebrated a remarkable natural event, known as a supermoon. A supermoon occurs when a full or new moon coincides with the moment when the moon is closer to Earth than it is to any other point along its elliptical orbit of our planet. The last time this event occurred (January 26th 1948), many of us weren't born, and the next time it will occur (November 25th 2034) some of us won't be around to see it. This rare, once in a life time event was photographed all over the world, resulting in some truly breathtaking images.

First, let's take a look at this demonstration of how the moon's apparent size changes over the year.
