Cute! THIS Is How Cats Show Us Their Love

While many don't think cats show any kind of affection towards their owners, they're wrong. Cats sure have ways of showing love towards you. They're just a bit... different. Some might be upfront and lick your face, while others prefer to spy on you while you're taking a shower, or even chew on your finger. What you might mistake for an act of aggression is actually an act of affection. Here are 14 examples of how your cat might show its affection and love:

1. Licking Your Face

There is nothing quite as special as having your beloved cat jump up and lick your whole face! Your skin may see it as an attack, but cats only groom those they admire. So take it as a huge compliment.
2. Using Your Keyboard as Their Personal Mattress

It's no secret, cats love attention. And what better way to get it than to sprawl all over your keyboard while you attempt to work! Cats love to feel important, even if it prevents you from typing or uploading pics of them. How ironic.
3. Tearing Apart Your Furniture

If you have a cat, you may have come home to see your beloved sofa ripped to shreds on more than one occasion. Did you know that the scratching is actually a cat's way of marking the place of their owner? Cats will scratch the area where you would normally have a seat, to show their affection. Of course, it will probably be a place you wouldn't want destroyed...
4. Spying on You From Beneath the Bathroom Door

You've heard the sound of claws meeting the bathroom door, at least once or twice. This is actually your cat's way of missing you. Attached cats hate to be away from you. The door provides them with the challenge of finding you, even if it means clawing the paint off your expensive door.

5. Chewing On Your Fingers

You're over there minding your own business, talking on the phone, when suddenly you feel a pair of fangs sink into your fingers. Cats will playfully nibble on your fingers to signify affection. It's their personal way of saying, "I love you so much I can't stand it and now I must bite you."
6. Attempting to Trip You Over

If you own a cat, you've probably tripped over them, stretching across the floor, at least a few times. Cats expand their torsos to show you their bellies, and they only do this in front of people they love and can allow themselves to be vulnerable with, so consider yourselves special!
7. Yelling at You

You might think that your cat is screaming your ears off, but they're just trying to have a nice conversation with you. That's actually their way of communication with us humans. The next time you see or hear your cat making loud, aggressive noises, just rub its belly and bring some more food.
8. Butting Heads with You

Cats love to butt heads with you to show how much they enjoy your presence. The head butting is called bunting, and they will often bonk heads with someone they genuinely feel affection for. Yep, that someone just might be you!
9. Painfully kneading you
pets, cats, cute, love
You could be comfortably lying on the couch watching television when your cat decides to start using their claws on you in a way that is both endearing and sometimes - quite agonizing. That painful feeling is more commonly referred to as kneading, which is what kittens do to their mothers when they want her attention. You can see the compliment there right?
10. That unwavering stare

It seems that no matter where you go in your home, if you turn around - you'll find your cat staring directly into your eyes with the intensity of a thousand suns. Cats make eye contact with the people that they love and trust. Don't get startled when you spot your feline friend awkwardly gazing into your eyes. Just blink at them slowly and lazily, that's the equivalent of a kitty kiss!
11. Attaching Themselves to You
pets, cats, cute, love
As soon as we enter the door and attempt to plop down on the sofa, some cats will attach themselves to our bodies like magnets. When a cat rubs against your body, it's their way of showing affection and bonding with you, while also spreading their own smell on you to re-claim you as theirs (did you not know they owned you?).
12. Using Your Body as Their Personal Bed
pets, cats, cute, love
If Fluffers or Mr. Binkers wants to go for a "cat-nap" on your chest or face, just take it as a compliment. Your cat just wants to be with you, regardless if you're having difficulties breathing! It's a great sign of trust.
13. Unpleasant Presents
pets, cats, cute, love
There is nothing as "joyful" as seeing the bloody "gift" your cat just dragged into the house. Believe it or not, your cat is trying to shower you with presents. Cats don't usually share food, and the "lovely gift" is actually an immense sign that your cat sees you as worthy of hunting for. You might want to wait until it turns its back to toss the mouse or bird out so you don't hurt its feelings.
