The Jaguar E-type: The Most Beautiful Luxury Sports Car Ever Made

The Jaguar E-type, or as it was marketed to the North American buyer, the Jaguar XK-E, is undoubtedly one of the most beautiful cars in history. There is even an urban legend that says that upon seeing it for the very first time, Enzo Ferarri said it is the most beautiful car ever made in the world. Were you lucky enough to drive it at its time?

This icon of the motoring world was manufactured between 1961 and 1975. It was based on Jaguar's D-type racing car. The E-type was first presented to the world at the Parc des Eaux Vives, Geneva, 15 March 1961. It won the 24 Hours of Le Mans race for three consecutive years beginning in 1955. This is the world's oldest active endurance race for sports cars. It is held annually in France, and the winner is the one to cover the most distance.
The Jaguar E-type's elegance is permanently acknowledged by the MoMa (Museum of Modern Art) in New York: the car is the third to join the museum's design collection as a permanent exhibit.
