The Tokyo 2020 Olympics are now over, but many of us are still reeling from the incredible performances of the incredibly impressive athletes who participated. If you are still craving some athletic action, however, you might want to take a look at the people crossing the street or the ones rushing across a railway station to get to their train on time. Because many of us urban dwellers are actually secret athletes. At least that’s what Tokyo-based illustrator Adrian Hogan believes.
The artist has been closely observing the actions of the common people in Tokyo and felt that they too perform athletic feats every day, albeit inadvertently. He, therefore, decided to illustrate their stunts. Adrian first got the idea when he noticed a shop clerk throwing open his shutters and it reminded him of a weightlifter throwing their barbell into the air. The ideas kept coming the more he looked around and noticed other people's little acts of athleticism. We have featured some of the best illustrations by this creative artist below.
