The saying goes, ‘one man’s trash is another man’s treasure’. And after familiarizing ourselves with the art of self-taught metal sculptor Brian Mock, we realized just how true this saying can be. Mock uses scrap metal, such as old forks and spoons exclusively, and welds these reclaimed items into detailed and lifelike sculptures of animals and people.
The super talented artist lives and works in Aloha, Oregon. After teaching himself to weld metal, he developed a passion for upcycling back in the 1990s. “It started as a hobby, but as I got better at sculpting, I turned it into a full-time profession,” said the sculptor in an interview.
