Everything You Wanted to Know About Osteoporosis

During our lifetime, the bones are continuously being rebuilt, but after age 30, the generation of new bone tissue slowly starts to decrease. Ultimately, our bones become brittle and porous, and a condition called osteoporosis is developed. The disease leads to a significant decrease in bone density, and this causes the bone to weaken and increases the risk of fractures, with even such seemingly harmless activities as a sudden sneeze being capable of causing bone damage.

The risk of developing osteoporosis increases dramatically with age, and statistical information suggests that about 50% of women and 25% of men in the US will experience an osteoporosis-related fracture in their lifetime. Worst of all, many people have no idea they have the condition. Find more valuable information on this dangerous and underdiagnosed disease in the visually-pleasing infographic below.
