Fascinatingly Bizarre Creatures You’ve Never Seen Before

The animal kingdom is filled with the most wonderful and amazing creatures. However, nature can often surprise you with its creations. In the pictures we have shared below, you will get to see some of the most unusual and weird animals that exist on Earth. Some of them are extremely rare and some are oddities of the natural world.
From a lizard that looks like a baby dragon to a two-headed turtle, these bizarre animals appear to have come straight from the screens of a sci-fi movie. Check them out.

1. That's not a baby dragon. It's a common flying dragon (Draco volans), a species of lizard that has the ability to glide using its winglike skin extensions.

2. Did you know that all scorpions fluoresce under ultraviolet light? This one's a Giant Desert Hairy Scorpion (Hadrurus arizonensis).

4. A caterpillar that seems to have a dragon's head! These caterpillars are called Polyura athamas, also known as the common nawab when they've matured into butterflies and belong to the Charaxinae (rajahs and nawabs) in the brush-footed butterfly family (Nymphalidae).

5. A lizard with two tails. This isn't completely abnormal. It happens when the lizard's tail is damaged enough to trigger growing a new one, but the original one manages to heal and stay connected.

8. No, these aren't flowers! That's one pink and one yellow Orchid Mantis (Hymenopus coronatus). Although they don't live on orchids, they have lobes on their legs that look like flower petals.

9. This creature looks like a mix between a butterfly and a fish, doesn't it? This one's actually a Flying Gurnard Fish (Dactylopterus volitans) that was seen in New Zealand. Also known as the helmet gurnard, they are found in warm and tropical seas.

10. A rare two-headed turtle. This abnormality happens because of a phenomenon called polycephaly that occurs occasionally in turtles and other reptiles.

11. Whoa! Now that's a giant moth! This is a Small wattle goat moth (Endoxyla lituratus). If you think this is a large moth, you should know there's something called the Large wattle goat moth, too, which is about twice as big as this one!

13. This is how big the claws of a male Southern Cassowary (Casuarius casuarius) look like. These birds are often called the most dangerous bird on Earth and have 5-inch claws on each foot that can slash and gravely injure even adult humans.
