Music Box: The Unforgettable Hits of Phil Collins

Phil Collins was one of the most successful musicians of the 1980s, dominating the charts with hits like “In The Air Tonight” and “Take Me Home.” Born in 1951 in London, Collins grew up in a household that embraced creativity and drive. His love of drums started showing as early as the age of 5 when little Phil couldn’t get enough of a toy drum kit he was given. By the age of 12, he had a real set of drums and played every chance he could get.

Phil Collins’ first big break was when he answered a newspaper advertisement from a band named Genesis that needed a drummer and backup vocalist. Over the next few years, Collins became the frontman of the band, which gained more and more success, including a tour in the United States. Collins didn’t waste any time, and after parting ways with Genesis, he went on to record 8 solo albums. There is certainly a lot to cram in for a singer with such an impressive career, but we did our best to include all the greatest and most beloved of Phil Collins’ solo hits.
