Do you have a motto in life? A code by which you live, or a reminder of who you are? Well, even if you don’t, chances are the state you’re residing in has one that you can live by! In 1956, “In God We Trust” was proclaimed the national motto for the entire country and signed into law by President Eisenhower. This phrase is also the motto of a well-known American state. Almost every single American state has one, some in English, or Latin and many in both. Here’s your chance to test your knowledge of your country and the history of its states. Take a shot at guessing which states these official mottos belong to!
