Oh, the 70’s… have not aged well as far as fashion goes. Bell-bottoms, short-shorts, platform shoes, and sooo many sweaters. Looking back, it’s honestly hard to explain what we were thinking. And nothing exemplifies this better than unisex clothing, trying to forcefully make clothes work for both sexes when it quite obviously doesn’t. Here's a little throwback to just how bad it used to be:
That sweater vest, with that turtleneck, with that belt...
Love Boat departing in 10 minutes! All Aboard!
I don't know what's worse, the hat or the waistcoat
Remember when caftans were a thing?
Whoever made these sweaters just stopped midway
I have so many questions about this picture...
They look like the worst group of comic-book heroes
I'm not feeling this one, it's missing some stripes
Yes, honey, you're totally pulling this look off!
Oh lord, that bulge!
The "I just took Old Yeller behind the shed" look
Disco or yodel? Why not both?
That suit is neither before nor after anything
Why waste unused sofa covers if you can make robes out of them?
Good thing they put gender symbols on those...
I, too, want to look like I'm selling refreshments at the theater
Ugh. Whoever thought leopard print was a good idea?
The only reason to wear a poncho is if you're an extra in a Western
Mustard fishnet and a tiger print on the jeans... really?
