How to Create Faux Snow at Home

There ain't no business like snow business! Some of us love it, others despise it, while others still have an intense craving to experience it at least for a few hours. If you're one of the many people who yearn to see some snow, then we've got some good news for you, since you can actually make faux snow pretty easily yourself, which is both beautiful to look at and a pleasure to touch!

To make it yourself, all you need is some baking soda, some white hair conditioner, and a large bowl. Simply mix half a cup of the conditioner with 3 cups of baking soda by hand. Keep kneading it until it is fluffy but still moldable. If it feels too stiff, add more hair conditioner, while if it is too sticky, simply add more baking soda.

Some people have also been known to replace the hair conditioner with shaving cream in their faux snow recipes to make it have a cooling effect. Other concoctions include baking soda and water, and even cornstarch and shaving cream.

Faux snow has so many awesome uses that it's hard not to get excited about it! You can use it for arts and crafts, homemade snow globes, and if you add it little glitter you can sprinkle it around your home to make it sparkle every time the lights are turned on!

If you decide to make a gigantic batch of fake snow, your kids or grandchildren can use it for both indoor and outdoor play. For large outdoor play areas, we'd recommend placing it in a container on top of a plastic tablecloth. For indoor play, we'd recommend using some newspaper or baking paper to help keep the area tidy.
