1. Migingo Island
The photo above shows the entirety of Migingo Island. This tiny Kenyan island has an area of only 2,000 square meters, yet has a population of over 130 individuals. This makes it the 3rd most dense island in the world, after Colombia's Santa Cruz del Islote and Hong Kong's Ap Lei Chau.
2. Three Sisters Springs
Thanks to the crystal clear water you can find at Florida's Three Sisters Springs, tourists from all around the world end up coming to visit this stunning location from mid-November to the end of March, to have a look at all the lovely manatees that come to rest there.
3. Illuminated Greenhouses in the Netherlands
The Netherlands is by far the most advanced country in the world when it comes to agricultural farming technology. The photo above shows illuminated greenhouses that are able to produce crops all year round. They only use 5% of the water that traditional farming methods produce, and can yield up to ten times the amount of crops too, without the need for pesticides.
4. The Santa Ana Crash
A white sedan ended up going airborne and smashing right through a 2nd storey office in California's Santa Ana. Everybody in the car had to be rescued while the car was still hanging out of the wall, and they even had to use a special kind of fire truck to eventually remove the vehicle. It turns out that the driver was under the influence of narcotics at the time of the collision.
5. A Samburu Woman
The image above shows a Samburu woman proudly wearing some colorful traditional clothing. Many Samburu women, who mostly live in north-central Kenya, wear such garments to show how proud they are for going to school and getting an education.
6. Vortex Spring
The sign shown above can be found in Florida's Vortex Spring, which is the state's largest commercial diving facility. Since the early 1990s, at least 13 divers have died while exploring one of the deepest caves, and one of the bodies has never been recovered.
7. Hawaii's Missile Warning
This is the emergency alert notification which the people of Hawaii woke up to find, causing a massive amount of panic all over. It turned out that a Hawaii Emergency Management Agency employee had pushed the warning button by accident.
8. South Africa's H&M Stores
H&M stores all over South Africa have been smashed to smithereens by protesters due to an allegedly racist advert found on their website. Furious rioters started throwing racks of clothing and mannequins all across the stores, which led to H&M closing all 17 of its South African outlets shortly afterward.
9. Wang's Frozen Journey
This young Chinese student, called Wang, ended up arriving in class with icicles in his hair, after having to walk over 4km to get there. When questioned about his journey, Wang said that “it is cold going to school, but it’s not hard."
10. Saudi Women at a Soccer Match
The images above were taken in early January, when women in Saudi Arabia were allowed to attend a soccer match for the first time ever. This move comes as part of what many are calling a liberalization drive in Saudi Arabia, which began when Saudi women were allowed to drive vehicles in 2017.
