The Japanese Restaurant Where the Waiters Have Dementia

When eating out, one of the most annoying things that can happen is when you order one dish but end up receiving another instead. Surprisingly though, there's a Japanese restaurant, called The Restaurant of Order Mistakes, which offers exactly that, since its unique mission is to provide work for waiters with dementia.

The restaurant popped up in Tokyo’s Toyosu district for just 3 days in June, and diners were warned that they may not actually receive the dish that they order. While this would usually caused a great deal of frustration, going into a restaurant knowing this upfront is a very different matter entirely.

People who tried it out said that it changed their perception about individuals who suffer from brain disease, and helped them to realize just how simple it is to allow dementia patients to be functioning members of society.

Mizuho Kudo, a renowned food blogger, visited the restaurant and had an absolute blast. She said that she was very pleasantly surprised when she received gyoza dumplings instead of the hamburger that she ordered, since they were truly a delight for the senses.

She also added that the experience in itself was a wonderful thing, as the waiters seemed to be having loads of fun, and were all full of smiles.
