7 Natural Remedies for Evening Out a Patchy Tan

Don’t you just hate it when you’ve spent a day in the sun and end up with an uneven tan? Regardless of whether you’ve got T-shirt or sunglasses marks, there’s no need to panic – there are various natural methods that I’m about to show you that will even out that multicolored tan in no time:
 
1. Lemon Juice

Before you go ahead and dribble lemon juice all over your face, note that doing so might ruin the delicate outer skin layer and cause it to dry up. You can apply lemon juice directly to other parts of your body, but if it’s your face that’s the problem area, be sure to dilute the lemon juice with water first. Apply the mixture to your face, allow to dry, then wash off with cool water.
2. Tomato Pulp

Tomatoes are wonderful for evening out an uneven tan, especially when applied to the face. Mash a tomato or two into a pulp, apply it to the affected area, then wash off after 10-15 minutes. Although you won’t see results as quickly as you would using lemon juice, using tomato pulp is much safer if you happen to have sensitive skin.
3. Yogurt

Mix half a teaspoon of turmeric into a small bowl of chilled yogurt, then apply the mixture to your face or other affected areas. This method will leave your skin feeling dewy-fresh, moisturize it and even out any ugly tan marks.
 
4. Potatoes

You might smell a little starchy, but the effect is worth it. Simply halve a raw potato, and rub the two slices onto the affected area to even out your tan. In addition, you can also use potato slices to get rid of dark circles and puffy eyes.
5. Cucumbers

Cucumbers have very high natural water and vitamin C content, and this makes them ideal for evening out a suntan or diminishing the appearance of tan lines. Cut a cucumber into slices, puree it into a paste and apply to the affected area for 20 minutes before washing off.
6. Baking Soda

The versatility of baking soda never ceases to amaze, and you’ll be pleased to know that it can also be used for evening out an uneven suntan. Simply mix one cup of baking soda with one tablespoon of sugar and half a cup of water, and use the resulting mixture to exfoliate in the shower.
7. Black Tea

This last tip is particularly good if you have sunburn. Make a cup of iced black tea and pour it into a spray bottle. After you get out of the shower, spritz yourself down. This will soothe your skin and make your tan lines fade.
