The Ancient Greeks were incredibly wise people thanks to their amazing education and the curious habit of questioning everything. In many ways, they shaped the way we today see the world and our place within it. But no doubt many of us don't actually consult the ancient works themselves, and most young people probably have never heard anything about Greek philosophy at all.
 

So here are 25 beautiful inspirational quotes and sayings from the Ancient Greeks that have really helped me get through life's difficulties. I hope you too can take something positive from the various sentiments expressed here, and maybe even share one or two of your insights with your nearest and dearest:

 
Xenophon - Excess of grief for the dead is madness, for it is an injury to the living, and the dead know it not.
Xenophanes - No human being will ever know the truth, for even if they happen to say it by chance, they would not even know they had done so.
