Rebirth - a Tribute to the Japanese

Japan is a very resilient country that's not unfamiliar to natural disasters. The most recent major disasters the country faced, the Tohoku earthquake and tsunami that led to the Fukushima Daiichi nuclear power plant's destruction, were responsible for the deaths of more than 15,000 people. Despite this devastating blow, the Japanese have rebuilt what they could in the time since then.
 
 
The resilience of his countrymen inspired artist Manabu Ikeda to create a drawing called Rebirth, which is of a massive cherry blossom growing out of the carnage caused by natural disasters. It's so detailed that you really have to look closely to appreciate all the effort that's gone into its creation. In fact, Ikeda-san invested 10 hours a day, six days a week for three-and-a-half years in order to finish this 13x10-foot piece. Truly amazing:
