There are Supermen Among Us!

We as humans have a wide array of individual abilities, strengths and weaknesses. But some people, either born with a special talent or developed one themselves, take that one additional step that surprises and amazes us. Here are a few of our personal favorites:

super humans
Some call him the French Spider-man, but his mother calls him Alain. Alain Robert has performed free climbs of some of the tallest structures in the world, without any special gear other than his climbing shoes and some chalk for his hands.

super humans
Like warriors of legend, Isao Machi's reflexes are almost supernaturally fast. Isao can cut a speeding pellet in midair. His precision and speed with a sword is unmatched.

Recognized by the Guinness book of world records as the fastest man alive with a gun, Bob Manden shoots so fast you haven't had time to hear the first shot before he shot the last.

super humans
Rumored to have ice water for blood, Wim Hof is a Dutch daredevil who has run a marathon in the arctic at -20 degrees Fahrenheit while shirtless! He also is the world champion at being immersed in ice, and has successfully achieved a record of an hour and 44 minutes. (The editor of this article thinks he can do three minutes, but declined to try).

super humans
Everyone was thinking about funerals when strongman Tom Owen announced he wanted a truck with 20 kids to drive over him, but in spite of some internal bleeding and a few broken ribs, Tom counted this a success.

super humans
How many lightning strikes can one man survive? Roy Cleveland Sullivan's answer is: At least seven times. This unlucky super human was hit on average every 5 years since the first hit, and has survived them all.

super humans
Hans Zak was born with nerves of steel, and you can usually find him walking a tightrope between very tall structures or rock formations.

super humans
Balancing a whole car on your head sounds like suicide, but John Evan was able to balance a mini on his head for 33 seconds!

super humans
In 2012, Nik Wallenda became the first human to ever tightrope from the United States to Canada (we're pretty sure) in an amazing stunt that took almost 40 minutes over the thundering Niagara Falls. Now that's some super balance.

super humans
Swiss fighter pilot Yves Rossy, also known as Fusion Man, has spent years devising an innovative jet pack, which allowed him to zoom his way across the English Channel just recently.
