When Two Masters Meet, The Results Are Fabulous!

Lil' Buck and Yo Yo Ma are both fantastic innovators in their craft. While you may know the works of the classical  cello prodigy Yo Yo Ma, who has over 75 albums and has won 15 Grammy Awards, you may not know about Lil' Buck's performance achievements.

Lil' Buck, or Charles Riley of Tennessee, practices a kind of dance called jookin', which originated in his home state. Jookin', also known as gangster walking, is a street dance that involves quick, flowing steps, stomping, twisting and arm throwing that gained popularity in the 1980s, but has now made a comeback in Lil' Buck's sensational YouTube videos.

Recently, Yo Yo Ma and Lil' Buck performed together at an event in Los Angelos and the results were simply fabulous! Below you will also find a video of Lil' Buck's unique jookin' style that won him the title of artist in residence in the 2011 Vail International Dance Festival.

Enjoy this unique meeting of classical music and street style that made for a once-in-a-lifetime kind of performance!
