Extremely destructive tornadoes have wrecked havoc this year, most frequently in the U.S., Bangladesh, and Eastern India, but they also occur almost anywhere under the right conditions. Tornadoes also appear regularly in neighboring southern Canada during the Northern Hemisphere's summer season, and somewhat regularly in Europe, Asia, and Australia.
There have been 620 tornadoes reported in the U.S. in 2013 (of which at least 466 have been confirmed). 102 fatalities have been confirmed worldwide in 2013 - 44 in the United States, 31 in Bangladesh, 24 in China, and 3 in Turkey.
