We all enjoy moments of absolute peace and quiet, listening to nothing but the sound of the rustling of leaves. Though, it's not always easy to find a secluded spot, unless you live in one of these delightful houses safely hidden from public view.

1. Dugout house, Texas, USA

Built 6.5 feet (2m) in the ground, at a glance it is hard to tell where exactly this house is located, until you make your way to the other side of the hill. While it may look like nothing spectacular from the outside, inside the house features everything you would need to live comfortably, including a small pool in the backyard.

2. Bungalow under pine trees in British Columbia, Canada

This house is unique and unusually planned. The green moss on the roof helps keep the house hidden, merging it into the landscape.

An underground villa may seem a little unusual, but a local law forbade erecting a high building since it would spoil the landscape. For this reason, the architect decided to build a house in a cave.

This house looks just like a submarine. It is spread on two levels, one of which is underground. The views are breathtaking!

This home is barely noticeable thanks to its outer walls which are faced with glass and coated with a layer of infrared film, allowing birds to distinguish the difference between the house and the trees.
