The Isleworth Mona Lisa
While there are still numerous unsolved mysteries shrouding the Mona Lisa hung at the Louvre, few people know that there is another version of La Gioconda - the Isleworth Mona Lisa, which is believed to belong to Da Vinci's brush too. This one, however, is believed to have been painted years earlier. The picture was found in a private collection more than a century ago and is now exhibited in the Prado Museum in Madrid. Perhaps one day, this painting will help decipher the answers to the questions that the Mona Lisa holds.
The Stagecraft
This painting, made by artist Laura P, was originally taken from a photograph taken by James Kidd. But according to the photographer, there was no man to the left of the stagecraft at the time of the shot. He suddenly appeared during the development - see the original photo here. After the painting was made it was thought to be haunted. It's been said that the painting always hung askew and caused unnatural disturbances. In the end, the painting was burned.
The Crying Boy
Italian artist Bruno Amadio painted 65 portraits of crying orphans that he had sold to tourists after WWII. One of his most famous is The Crying Boy, which is believed (and has been recognized) as cursed in several regions of England. It is said that the artist lit a match before the boy's eyes to make him cry. Worryingly, prints of this painting have been found in 50 fires that occurred across the land.
The Rokeby Venus
This mysterious painting has baffled many because of the old face of Venus in the mirror and the incorrect perspective. The painting is also believed to have some mystic powers attributed to it as well. Whoever owned this painting tried to dispose of it after encountering a disaster. The painting made its way to the National Gallery of London in the 20th century. But in 1914, a British female rights activist hit is 5 times with a butcher's knife. After which, no more strange things happened to the Venus.
The Rain Woman
Painted by Ukranian artist Svetlana Telets, this strange painting was made in just five hours. All buyers of the painting, however, returned it with compaints of insomnia, anxiety and feelings of being watched.
The Portrait of Spanish General Bernardo de Galvez
Painted so vividly, it is said that The Portrait of Spanish General Bernardo de Galvez looks directly at passers-by. Strangely enough, photos of the painting tend to be blotted or otherwise imperfect. The painting currently hangs in the Hotel Galvez in Galveston Texas.
The Hands Resist Him
Painted by Bill Stoneham, this painting is said to be based on the artist's own childhood photograph. The doll is a guide to the dream world behind the door, but what dreams are those? Several claims maintain that the painting was cursed or haunted. Some people have stated that the kids in the painting were moving and fighting at night, while other owners complained of headaches and anxiety in its presence.
