Yulia Brodskaya's Amazing Paper Art

Quilling is a centuries-old technique, whereby an artist manipulates strips of colorful paper by rolling, looping and curling them into decorative shapes. The paper is then glued to meld all the filigreed pieces together, creating one stunning and cohesive visual.

Russian artist Yulia Brodskaya is an expert at the craft of paper art. However, she initially began her art career as a graphic designer and illustrator, moving away from digital art after discovering her passion for handcrafting three-dimensional paper masterpieces. "Paper always held a special fascination for me", she says, "I've tried many different methods and techniques of working with it, until I found the way that turned out to be 'the one' for me. Now I draw with paper instead of on it."

Since discovering her passion for quilling, Brodskaya's innovative art has taken off, gaining international reputation. In fact, her bright and detailed work has been commissioned by a number of high profile clients including Starbucks, Sephora, Target, the New York Times, Neiman Marcus and many more.

You can see more of her works here and here as well.
