These Historic Photos Illustrate Love Among War Couples

Much has changed over the last century. We have seen changes in fashion, technology, home appliances, medicine and computers. Yet, regardless of how much time has passed, there is one thing that has always remained the same, and that is love. Perhaps the only difference this time round is that when we say goodbye to someone we're close to, we are likely to see them again soon, but many of the people in the photographs below, which were taken during the war years of the first half of the 20th Century, hadn't any clue whether they would ever be reunited with the one that they love again.

This inspiring photograph collection reminds us that life is short... and to never wait to tell somebody that you love them.
