Some of these tips saved me a lot of misery during my travels, and I'm sure they will help you too.

If you are traveling to another country, call your credit or debit card company before you go. Make sure you are authorized to make purchases with foreign currency so that your card won't be suspended for suspicious activity. There's nothing worse than being stuck without money abroad.

If you are going to go on a long flight or a long drive it's a good idea to go for a short run (or other forms of exercising) before leaving. This will reduce your stress and you’ll have an easier time falling asleep if you want to.
