Step into the Fascinating World of Snails

These glimpses into a magical little world come to us from the camera of talented photographer Vyacheslav Mishchenko, residing in the Ukraine. Mischenko has an eye out for a creature most of us never look at twice - the snail.

Mishchenko takes photos of his tiny models in their natural environments. Sometimes he adds a few natural objects such as fruit, and patiently waits for the snails to react to it. His photos are always taken at a picture perfect time, showing snails enchanted by drops of water or stretching toward each other across distances. In this, he has created extraordinary beauty for a very unlikely subject matter.

You can see more of his wonderful photos on his website or on his Facebook page.

Snails are no different from slugs. The only thing that distinguishes them is that the former has a shell.
